Be inspired by the stories of our persecuted brothers and sisters! At the VOM ADVANCE conference, speakers from around the world share personal testimonies about God’s faithfulness in the midst of persecution. Join us to learn how God’s kingdom is advancing, even in the face of fierce opposition. Meet your persecuted family face to face, and let God use their stories to challenge you to a deeper, bolder walk with Him.

The conference rekindled my desire to pray for others, to stand in the gap and, again, intercede for those who are persecuted for His name.

You make the persecuted real to us by sharing their pictures and their stories, and I feel like we know them through our prayers.

About The Voice of the Martyrs

The Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) is a nonprofit, interdenominational missions organization that offers practical and spiritual help to persecuted Christians around the world. Founded in 1967, VOM is dedicated to inspiring all believers to deepen their commitment to Christ and to fulfill His Great Commission no matter the cost. The Voice of the Martyrs continues in this mission around the world today through the following main purposes:

Our ministry is based on Hebrews 13:3: Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
  • To encourage and empower Christians to fulfill the Great Commission in areas of the world where they are persecuted for sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.
  • To provide practical relief and spiritual support to the families of Christian martyrs.
  • To equip persecuted Christians to love and win to Christ those who are opposed to the gospel in their part of the world.
  • To undertake projects of encouragement, helping believers rebuild their lives and Christian witness in countries where they have formerly suffered oppression.
  • To promote the fellowship of all believers by informing the world of the faith and courage of persecuted Christians, thereby inspiring believers to a deeper level of commitment to Christ and involvement in His Great Commission.

  • Faisal John
    Pakistan
Pastor Faisal John has served Pakistani Christians since 1998. He and his wife, Carrie, currently lead Grace Bible Church and its many outreach ministries, serving directly in Pakistan for about half of each year. more about Faisal John

Pastor Faisal John has served Pakistani communities since 1998. A decade ago, he met and married an American missionary, Carrie, and together they began a journey of serving Jesus Christ by spreading His love and Word worldwide.

Their direct mission work in Pakistan usually extends from November through April each year. At Grace Bible Church in Pakistan, Pastor Faisal John shepherds a flock of about 150 people, with well over 400 attending on Christmas and Easter. While in Pakistan, Pastor Faisal teaches believers face to face every morning as well as twice on Sundays. Even when he is in the U.S., he provides his flock with encouragement and Bible lessons through Skype. Grace Bible Church offers a variety of ministries in Pakistan: Outreach sends a team of two men to several villages each week to pray with and encourage Christian families living in remote areas; Grace Academy English Medium School educates 153 extremely poor children, with the goal of not only teaching them to read and write in two languages but also introducing them to the gospel of Christ and training them to serve Him; the church’s 3:16 Children’s Home currently cares for 22 orphans; and Grace Theological Seminary is directing 14 men in theological studies.

When in the U.S., Pastor Faisal and Carrie travel as missionaries, teaching and encouraging young people at various youth camps. Along the way, they share the gospel and update local church bodies on how God is working in Pakistan.

  • Cole Richards
    President, VOM
Cole Richards serves as President of The Voice of the Martyrs (VOM). In this role, he leads VOM's global ministry work, which includes significant outreach both in the U.S. and abroad. more about Cole Richards

Cole Richards serves as President of The Voice of the Martyrs (VOM). In this role, he leads VOM’s global ministry work, which includes significant outreach both in the U.S. and abroad. VOM ministers internationally by serving, and serving with, Christians who are severely persecuted for their faith. This is accomplished through a multinational team of 51 missions leaders from 22 nationalities, based in 23 countries. VOM accomplishes more than 1,600 projects annually in 68 hostile and restricted nations by responding to persecution and advancing God’s eternal Kingdom on the world’s most difficult missions frontiers.

In VOM’s U.S. ministry endeavors, Cole acts as executive editor/producer of VOM’s media and events. This includes VOM Radio, the VOM Advance Conferences and VOM’s monthly newsletter – an award-winning full-color ministry magazine that goes out to an average of 800,000 homes and churches each month. It also includes significant books and films such as I Am N: Inspiring Stories of Christians Facing Islamic Extremists. All of these ministry tools and channels serve as a voice for persecuted Christians, bring American Christians into fellowship with their persecuted brothers and sisters, and allow believers in the U.S. to be inspired by the example of their joyful, bold and suffering family members.

Cole came on staff with VOM in 2006 after living and ministering in a least-reached and restricted nation in the Middle East where he, with his wife and children, reached out to Muslims and supported persecuted Christian house church networks. He has since worked in more than 40 hostile and restricted nations and is a close ministry associate and personal friend of indigenous Christian leaders in places like Iran, Syria, Nigeria, Sudan, Egypt and Burma.
Before entering into fulltime ministry, Cole served as a military officer, with his military career focused almost entirely on the rise of Islamic terror groups in the Middle East. His life calling and passion is to see the Body of Christ unified to fulfill the Great Commission no matter the cost. His Bachelor’s degree is in Civil Engineering and he holds two Master’s degrees: The first in missiology with focus on evangelism in the Muslim world, and the second a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in the context of organizational leadership.
